AVID is an acronym for Advancement Via Individual Determination.

Student Scholars in each grade level are invited to join the AVID Elective Course taught by Mrs. Shirley Hardiman-Rawnsley.  This course requires an agreement with the student and family to strive higher and harder for college and career readiness in a global society.

Simmons-Pinckney practices whole-school AVID protocols with each scholar utilizing a 3-inch binder, participating in weekly binder checks, and engaging in strategies to enhance Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization, and Reading (WICOR).
