Ms. Adeogun

My name is Mary Adamson Adeogun.

I am a new science teacher at Simmons Pinckney Middle School.

I am from Conway, SC, which is near Myrtle Beach. I received  my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Hampton University and further studied Medicine at the Medical University of South Carolina. I decided to start teaching middle school after being an adjunct professor and realizing that I would be better suited to help younger students develop a love and appreciation for science.

I believe that the inquiry of science, formulating a hypothesis, learning to ask the right questions, is essential to becoming a high performing student. Science teaches students to ask questions, test ideas, and retest the things that don’t work. You should never be afraid to fail in science, it is all a learning process. If my students take one thing away from my class, my hope is that they become inquisitive. Curiosity is the key to imagination and helps create new technology.

I am excited to work here at SPMS and look forward to developing relationships with all the students and parents.
