Mrs. Stephanie Naumann
Hello SPMS Students and Families -
My name is Stephanie Naumann and I am your school nurse three days a week. I was born and raised in Orangeburg, SC. I graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing. I have been a Registered Nurse for 34 years and have practiced Nursing for all of those years in Charleston. My background is Women’s, Infant’s and Children’s nursing care.
I live in the Charleston area with my husband, my Shih Tzu - Bogart and a Corgi - Pippa. I have a daughter who is a Veterinary Technician at Emory University, a son who is in the United States Marine Corps, and a daughter at the University of South Carolina studying Art Education. All of my children attended CCSD schools. I have survived the sometimes hard school years.
I began my adventure in school nursing with CCSD in August of 2020 as school resumed during the COVID-19 pandemic. Being a school nurse is vastly different from any other area of nursing I have worked. People may think all we do is hand out ice packs and Band-Aids but I want you to know that being a school nurse is one of the most challenging and rewarding positions I’ve ever held.
My job is to work with you to keep your children as healthy as possible, so they can be at school every day! School Nurses assist with managing chronic illnesses, such as asthma, so that children can avoid absences. We provide a variety of health screenings including vision and hearing. The Dental Access dental van visits SPMS during the school year to provide dental care at the school. An Adolescent Medicine doctor from MUSC is here most Wednesdays and can see your child for management of medical conditions or a sick visit. Both of these great services are available to any student whose parent/guardian has completed a consent. Please see the links provided.
Please let me know how I can help!
